I’m a bricklayer whose just beaten the five-time World Champion in the most important tournament in darts.

So a massive shock at the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship on Sunday 18th December as Barney was defeated 3-0 at the Ally pally by bricklayer James Richardson.

Richardson, world number 85 turned pro in January this year and was lost for words after his victory.

To say this was a shock is an understatement as 5 time World champ is now facing the threat of missing out at the 2012 Premier League Darts as the top 7 in the World get automatic enry with a wild card taking the 8th and final place.

As it stands Barneveld lies in 8th place in the world and could miss out, this would be a shame as Barney undoubtedly is a World class player but just couldn’t find the darts in his defeat.

UPDATE

The 2012 Premier League darts players have been announced and Barney is in.
